TicketDerby // Signup and Login
TicketDerby brought me in as an external consultant to lead product and design and optimize the service by implementing better user experience, visual and interactive design. The primary goal was to get more people using the service as both attendees purchasing tickets and event holders selling tickets.
The first task was to streamline new user acquisition through a more efficient signup process that did away with the myriad of form fields, captcha while a redesign of the navigation brought the signup button into focus. Only two fields are required to create an account – email address and password. Both of these fields are validated in real-time so that malformed email addresses, or a password that's too short, can be corrected immediately rather than having to submit the form to find out an error was made. The "Create Your Account" button becomes active, and completes the signup process once the fields have been correctly filled in. The option to remain logged into TicketDerby was added with the default state of being on. Prior to the "Keep me logged in" addition a login was required every time a session was ended.
Responsible for the UX design, interaction design, visual design, mockups, web assets and specification document from which the new signup and login were engineered. The engineering team was handled directly by me while status updates of the project were relayed back to the rest of the team.
